Police Seek Suspects in Fatal Stabbing of Venezuelan National

Authorities are on the lookout for three Venezuelan men who allegedly chased down, beat, and stabbed 30-year-old Omar Martinez Rodriguez to death on Saturday night.

The incident occurred outside the Panda Supermarket in Goed Fortuin just before 8 PM. According to police reports, a security guard witnessed the attack and informed investigators that Rodriguez was pursued and assaulted by three men before being brutally stabbed by one of them.

Initial details reveal that the attack began while Rodriguez was in a taxi on his way home. The taxi driver reported that two men on a motorcycle approached the vehicle, jumped off, and started attacking Rodriguez. He managed to intervene, pushing the assailants away and driving to the supermarket for safety. However, Rodriguez exited the car and was subsequently chased and attacked by the two men, who were later joined by a third suspect.

Police noted that Rodriguez’s body showed multiple injuries to his hands, neck, and chest. A post-mortem examination is pending to determine the exact cause of death.

A search is underway for the three suspects, all identified as Venezuelan nationals, who reportedly fled the scene immediately after the attack. Police are appealing to the public for any information that could assist in their capture.
