Police Update: Suspect in Domestic Violence Case Arrested

Arraignment Scheduled for Today

In response to a recent social media post by Ms. Joanna Ramoutar, authorities have confirmed that a suspect has been arrested in connection with a domestic violence matter. The victim, Ms. Ramoutar, provided a statement to the police, and a medical examination has been conducted.

The suspect, identified as Karran Sukhan, was apprehended in Regional Police Division #5. He has since been transferred to Police Division #6 and is currently held at the Central Police Station in New Amsterdam, Berbice. Sukhan is scheduled to be arraigned later today.

The police are continuing to investigate the matter, ensuring that all necessary measures are taken to support the victim and uphold justice. Further updates will follow as the situation develops.
