Police Urge Safer Parking Practices on Kingston Road

Police have issued a warning regarding unsafe and illegal parking habits observed among staff and contractors near Battery Road and Fort Street. Concerns have been raised about vehicles being parked too close to corners, in dangerous positions, and in ways that obstruct the free flow of traffic, particularly affecting drivers exiting Fort Street north.

These parking practices violate the Motor Vehicle and Road Traffic Act Chapter 51:02. Authorities have also noted incidents where some high-level public servants have resisted directives from officers regarding proper parking.

In light of these issues, the public is urged to adhere to traffic signs, utilize designated parking areas, and consider carpooling to reduce congestion. Police officials have emphasized that non-compliance with parking regulations will result in enforcement actions.

The police department is committed to ensuring public safety and maintaining smooth traffic flow in the area. Community cooperation is essential in fostering safer parking practices.
