The People’s Progressive Party Civic (PPP) wrapped up its 2025 election campaign Saturday night at Lusignan Market, where leaders made a final appeal for re-election.

President Irfaan Ali assured supporters that the PPP is best equipped to lead, highlighting the party’s fulfillment of promises since 2020. He emphasized the importance of national unity, stating, “We are bonded by a shared identity and common values.”

Prime Minister Mark Phillips urged citizens to vote early on Monday, stressing the need for a supermajority to pass important legislation aimed at improving living standards.

General Secretary and Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo expressed confidence in the party’s victory, citing growth and support across various demographics. He encouraged voters to focus on the PPP’s track record since 2020.

Jagdeo also warned against being swayed by rival parties’ promises, asserting that the PPP is committed to bridging the racial divide in Guyana. He predicted a significant majority for the PPP in the upcoming elections.
