Finance Minister Dr. Ashni Singh emphasized the People’s Progressive Party/Civic’s (PPP/C) newly launched 2025–2030 manifesto as credible and realistic, contrasting it with the opposition’s “lofty promises.”

In an interview, Dr. Singh criticized opposition manifestos for lacking a strategic framework and grounding in economic realities. He highlighted the PPP/C’s comprehensive plan, which acknowledges both opportunities and risks in Guyana’s commodity-based economy.
He noted that the PPP/C manifesto is practical and rooted in a macroeconomic context, addressing the potential risks of Dutch disease. Singh praised the manifesto as forward-looking and committed to improving citizens’ lives, underscoring its seriousness and rigor.
The PPP/C launched its manifesto last week, outlining a transformative agenda to sustain Guyana’s development while protecting the economy from global shocks.
