President Dr. Irfaan Ali announced plans to construct at least 30,000 new houses over the next five years, delivering 16 homes daily if the People’s Progressive Party Civic (PPP/C) is re-elected on September 1, 2025. Each house is estimated to cost $15 million, totaling an investment of $450 billion and creating approximately 150,000 jobs.

During the Building Expo 2025 opening ceremony, President Ali emphasized the shift from land allocation to full home ownership. He noted that the program will utilize lands already assigned to citizens, providing a significant economic boost.
Over the past five years, the government has allocated nearly 53,000 house lots, exceeding its initial target of 50,000. The Building Expo features over 380 booths from various international companies, aimed at fostering partnerships and showcasing investments across multiple sectors. The event runs from August 14-17 at the Guyana National Stadium.
