President Dr. Irfaan Ali raised alarms over rising security challenges, including transnational crime and Venezuela’s territorial claims, threatening Guyana’s sovereignty.

Speaking at a rally in Herstelling, Ali emphasized the critical nature of the upcoming days for the nation’s future, stating, “We are nine days away from writing history or turning back the clock.”
He highlighted the increased military presence in the region and the risks posed by illicit trade, warning that criminal networks could destabilize Guyana and support rogue regimes like Venezuela.
The Government of Guyana echoed these concerns, calling for strengthened cooperation to combat organized crime and narco-terrorism, which undermine democracy and threaten development.
Ali noted that Guyana’s position on the UN Security Council has enhanced international confidence in its leadership, reinforcing the need for global alliances to ensure national security. He urged citizens to consider which government has the credibility to protect the country, questioning the opposition’s past actions during the 2020 elections.

Charles Ramson Jr. criticized the opposition for having No Credible Policies.
