News Room Guyana Reports : President Dr. Irfaan Ali issued a powerful warning against attempts to buy votes during the launch of his re-election campaign on Sunday evening. He described such actions as an affront to the dignity of every Guyanese and cautioned citizens not to be swayed by bribes from his political opponent, Azruddin Mohamed.

“Your vote is your dignity,” Ali declared to a crowd of supporters. He emphasized the significance of voting as a decision that impacts not only individual futures but also the future of families, communities, and the country as a whole.
“Anyone who believes they can pay you for that dignity is classless, without honour or pride,” he added.
In his remarks, President Ali grouped Mohamed and the APNU Coalition together, referring to them as “birds of a feather that flock together.” He accused the APNU of election theft and criticized Mohamed for alleged tax evasion related to a luxury vehicle he imported into the country, which has drawn scrutiny from the Guyana Revenue Authority for being severely undervalued.
Ali urged voters to remain focused on what truly matters, warning that the progress made could be jeopardized if they succumb to selfishness.
“The PPP’s leadership is tested and proven,” he asserted, contrasting it with what he characterized as a “coalition of lightweights.” He noted that critics of his administration offer no substantive plans, only division.
“When they talk about race, we shall talk about results,” Ali stated. “When they try to divide, we say unite.”
With the election approaching, President Ali’s strong message aims to galvanize support and reinforce the importance of integrity in the electoral process.
