Prime Minister Mark Phillips Awards Laptop to Top Graduate Jada Cornelius

Prime Minister, Brigadier (Ret’d) Mark Phillips, presented a laptop to Ms. Jada Cornelius, the top graduating student of Christianburg Wismar Secondary School for 2024, in recognition of her outstanding academic achievement.

During a meeting at his office, the Prime Minister reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to supporting educational excellence and youth empowerment across Guyana. He encouraged Ms. Cornelius and all students to take advantage of the expanding opportunities within the education sector.

“The Government takes pride in supporting the academic journeys of our nation’s youth and remains dedicated to empowering future leaders through meaningful investments in education,” he stated.

Ms. Cornelius expressed her gratitude for the recognition and shared her academic aspirations. She plans to pursue a degree in biology at the University of Guyana, with the ultimate goal of specializing in cardiology to contribute significantly to Guyana’s development after completing her studies.

The laptop presentation followed a formal request from the school’s administration to honor their Best Graduating Student for 2024, highlighting the importance of recognizing exceptional academic performance in fostering educational motivation.
