Raul Binand Remanded

On Wednesday, June 11, 2025, officers from the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) conducted an operation on David Street, Kitty, following received intelligence. During the operation, they intercepted a motorcar and discovered several parcels containing a whitish powdery substance suspected to be cocaine.

The suspects were arrested, and the suspected narcotic was taken to CANU headquarters for further testing. The substance tested positive for cocaine and weighed a total of 21.972 kilograms.

In a subsequent court appearance, Raul Binand appeared before Magistrate Annette Singh at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court, where he pleaded not guilty to the charge of possession of cocaine with the intent to traffic. Bail was denied, and he has been remanded to prison until July 11, 2025, as investigations continue.
