News Room Guyana Reports : Following the completion of the recount and tabulation for votes cast in District Four, Aubrey Norton’s PNC-led Coalition, the A Partnership for National Unity (APNU), has reported a decrease in its vote count. The original tally showed APNU with 46,956 votes, but the recount revealed a drop to 46,949, a loss of five votes.

In contrast, the incumbent People’s Progressive Party (PPP) gained two votes, increasing its total from 87,536 to 87,538. The newcomer WIN party maintained its count at 41,607 votes.
The recount also indicated that the Alliance for Change (AFC) lost four votes, dropping from 1,765 to 1,761. Meanwhile, the Forward Guyana Movement saw an increase, moving from 2,431 to 2,437 votes, while the Alternative Liberation Party (ALP) held steady at 497 votes.
Despite requesting the recount, APNU has since called for the electoral process to be abandoned and new elections to be held. In response, Justice (Ret’d) Claudette Singh, Chair of the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM), reminded APNU that any party aggrieved by the election results has the right to file an appeal with the High Court.
