Big Smith News Watch Reports : Truck driver David Ragnauth, who fled after fatally hitting 22-year-old Alex Persaud on August 13, is set to appear in court for causing death by dangerous driving.
Persaud was crossing the Supply Public Road when Ragnauth, reportedly speeding, collided with another truck before running him over and fleeing the scene, abandoning his vehicle at Sarah Johanna.
After several days on the run, Ragnauth was arrested near the Demerara Harbour Bridge during a police operation and may face additional charges. Interestingly, both Ragnauth and Persaud were scheduled to appear in court on August 18 related to a prior altercation.
