Elvis Arthur, a 23-year-old Amerindian farmer from Achawib, South Rupununi, was charged today with Break and Enter and Larceny following an incident at the Achawib Nursery School. The offence took place between December 13, 2024, and September 11, 2025.
Arthur was arrested on September 11 and appeared before His Worship Omadatt Chandan at the Lethem Magistrate’s Court. The charge, laid under Section 229 (a) of the Criminal Law Offences Act, was read to him, and he entered a guilty plea.
The court sentenced Arthur to eighteen months of imprisonment for his actions.
