‘Scarface’ Sentenced to Three Years in Prison
Ryan Sookdeo, known as ‘Scarface’, a 21-year-old fisherman from Lusignan, East Coast Demerara, was arrested on June 1, 2025, and charged today by ranks from the Vigilance Police Station with the offense of ‘Break-and-Enter-and-Larceny’, contrary to Section 229(a) of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01.
Sookdeo is accused of committing this offense in the dwelling house of Samantha Jairam, a 32-year-old female from Non-Pariel, East Coast Demerara, on June 1, 2025.
The accused appeared at the Vigilance Magistrates’ Court before His Worship, Senior Magistrate Sunil Scarce, where the charge was read to him. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment.
