Several security guards employed by Sentinel Security have raised serious alarms regarding the non-payment of their salaries for November and December 2025, leading to financial distress for the affected workers.

One of the impacted employees, 60-year-old Bhojkarran Ramchander from Goed Bananen Land, East Canje, expressed his deep frustration. Ramchander, along with four other colleagues, has gone without their wages for two consecutive months. When he reached out to the company’s New Amsterdam office for clarification, he was informed of insufficient funds to process their payments.
“We need we money because we get children to mind, house bills to pay, and we gah eat,” Ramchander stated emphatically.
Having been with Sentinel Security for over a decade, Ramchander highlighted the severe strain this financial setback has placed on him as the sole provider for his family.
Another employee, 28-year-old Vishal Seenarine, voiced similar concerns. He received his October salary just before the Christmas holidays but has not been compensated for the following two months. The delays have severely impacted his ability to meet basic living expenses, including utility bills.
“GPL doesn’t want to hear that you don’t have money. We still have to pay for electricity and internet. I came to work this morning without food because I don’t have money to buy anything,” Seenarine shared.
The affected workers are now appealing to senior management at Sentinel Security to take immediate action and ensure that their outstanding salaries are settled. The day-shift guards hope for a swift resolution to alleviate their financial burdens.
Efforts by the News Room to reach out to Sentinel Security for comment were unsuccessful, leaving the workers in a state of uncertainty regarding their compensation. The situation highlights the ongoing struggles faced by employees in the security sector and the immediate need for management intervention.
