Bradley Hibbert, a 36-year-old security officer from Brooklyn, New York, was arrested on Wednesday after being caught with 15.758 kilogrammes (approximately 34.74 pounds) of foreign cannabis at the airport.
According to a release from the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU), Hibbert had traveled to Guyana from the United States. Acting on information received, authorities conducted a search, during which they discovered several transparent parcels containing the foreign cannabis.
CANU has stated that investigations into the incident are ongoing. Further updates will be provided as the case develops.
