A 20-year-old woman has reported being drugged and raped at Raghoo’s Sports Bar, an incident captured in a viral video that has ignited widespread public outrage. The shocking event, which unfolded in full view of patrons, led to the immediate closure of the bar by authorities.

According to a statement from Police Headquarters, the young woman reported the assault to law enforcement around 8:20 PM on Friday. She alleged that three men assaulted her while bystanders recorded the incident rather than intervening.
“The victim stated that she was drugged and raped by three males at Raghoo’s Sports Bar,” the police confirmed in their statement.
The disturbing footage quickly circulated online, prompting condemnation from both the public and government officials. In response to the incident, the police have arrested the bartender and several individuals identified as persons of interest. Investigators are actively working to locate and question additional suspects and witnesses featured in the video.
Dr. Vindhya Persaud, Minister of Human Services and Social Security, described the attack as “most reprehensible” and criticized those who filmed rather than helped the victim. The Ministry of Home Affairs has also initiated an urgent investigation into the incident, labeling it a “matter of grave concern.” Authorities have cautioned against further sharing of the video, as it could violate the victim’s privacy and complicate the ongoing investigation.
The Guyana Police Force has assured the public that the investigation is ongoing, as community leaders and citizens alike call for justice in this troubling case.
