Rafael Hintzel, a 33-year-old resident of Lot 135 Red Road, Sophia, was arrested by police on June 20, 2025, and charged today with three counts of armed robbery, contrary to Section 222(c) of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01.
The charges relate to incidents involving:
Dexroy Singh, also known as ‘Bow’, a 30-year-old barber from Ann’s Grove, East Coast Demerara.
Kishon Pompey, known as ‘Breeze’, a 25-year-old construction worker from Ann’s Grove, East Coast Demerara.
Lawrence Pellew, known as ‘Delwin’, a 20-year-old construction worker from Dutch Four Housing Scheme, East Coast Demerara.
Hintzel is accused of committing the armed robbery on November 4, 2024, at the Ann’s Grove main access road.
During his appearance at Vigilance Magistrate’s Court today before Magistrate Sunil Scarce, Hintzel pleaded not guilty to all charges. He was granted bail in the amount of $350,000. The cases have been adjourned to August 6, 2025, for report and statements.
