St. Ignatius Man Sentenced to Six Months for Assault

Teles Forde, a 22-year-old laborer from St. Ignatius Village in Central Rupununi, has been sentenced to six months in prison after pleading guilty to charges of assault causing actual bodily harm.

Forde appeared before His Worship Magistrate Omadatt Chandan at the Lethem Magistrate’s Court today, where he was charged under Section 30(a) of the Summary Jurisdiction (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:02.

Following his guilty plea, Forde received a six-month imprisonment sentence for his actions, reinforcing the legal repercussions surrounding assault and bodily harm in the community.
