Statement from Hon. Kwame McCoy, Minister within the Office of the Prime Minister

News

It is abundantly clear that APNU, the AFC, Team Mohammed, and any political charlatans seeking your votes have no credible record of governance performance on your behalf, nor anything of substance to offer for the next five years that you can trust.

So, what do they do? They resort to theatrics, obfuscation, and laughable smokescreens.

The latest political misadventure comes from the novice Nema Flu-Bess, who claims that the PPP/C has delivered no empowerment or development for the good people of the East Bank, Soesdyke, and the Linden highway villages.

Here’s a glimpse of our record of delivery across those constituencies over the past three years:

Community Development Funds: 10 of the 16 Soesdyke-Linden highway villages that qualify have benefited from LCDS community development funds, averaging 215 million dollars annually. These funds are used for community development as determined by the villages.

New Secondary School: Residents of Yarrowkabra and surrounding communities have access to a new secondary school.

Land Titles: More than 3,000 land titles have been allocated, with hundreds more being processed.

Housing Developments: A Young Professional housing development and a single mother’s Homestead housing development are underway to empower 500 eligible women.

Mega Agro-Processing Plant: This facility will serve the homestead community and local farmers.

Silica City: A new mega smart city is under rapid development.

Highway Improvements: The Linden-Soesdyke highway is undergoing a complete overhaul and will be fully lit upon completion. The East Bank and the new Heroes Highway are also expanding rapidly.

Private Sector Investments: A new international hotel, the Splashmins residential community expansion, and several other major projects are being developed to create employment solutions.

Employment Opportunities: The expansion of sand pits along the Soesdyke-Linden highway corridor has created direct employment and opportunities for downstream enterprises.

Compare this three-year record of delivery with the five-year tenure of the APNU-AFC Coalition and witness the stark difference.

On September 1, vote for the obvious choice to let the progress continue.
