Survivor Identified in Air India Crash Tragedy

BBC Reports : Ahmedabad, India — In a devastating incident, at least 200 people lost their lives in the crash of Air India flight AI171. However, reports confirm that there is one survivor: British national Vishwashkumar Ramesh, who was seated in 11A on the London-bound Boeing 787-8.

Ahmedabad Police Commissioner GS Malik informed the Indian news agency ANI about the sole survivor. Ramesh reportedly contacted his family to reassure them that he was “fine,” although he remains unaware of the whereabouts of his brother, Ajay, who was also on the flight.

Footage circulating on social media shows Ramesh walking toward an ambulance amidst smoke rising from the crash site.

Ramesh shared his boarding pass with Indian media, confirming his identity and seat number. He is known to have a wife and child and has lived in the UK for many years after being born in India.

The tragic event has sparked an outpouring of grief and condolences from around the world, as families await further news about their loved ones.
