Tyreek Jagnandan, a 24-year-old taxi driver from Enmore, East Coast Demerara, was charged today, September 10, 2025, with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking. Authorities allege he was found in possession of 3.75 pounds of gummies infused with cannabis.

The charge was filed under Section 5(1)(a)(i) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Control) Act, Chapter 10:10.
Jagnandan appeared before Chief Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court, where he pleaded not guilty to the charges. Bail was set at $50,000. The case has been adjourned to September 24, 2025, for disclosure.
