This initiative is part of the government’s broader plan to improve computer proficiency within the GPF as it digitizes its operations. According to GPF officials, the program focuses on improving administrative efficiency and enhancing the overall quality of service delivery.

During the training, participants acquired essential skills in document preparation, data management, presentation creation, and record-keeping—critical competencies for modern policing.

The program was facilitated by instructors from the Zara Computer Centre, with support from Woman Constable Moore, Sergeant Constable Drennon, and Rural Constable Nedd. Participants received both theoretical and practical instruction in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Access.

Upon completion, participants were required to take a final examination. Those who did not pass will receive additional training before re-sitting the assessment.

The computer literacy initiative will continue in batches of 30, with full-day sessions scheduled for Fridays over four consecutive weeks. Training will persist until all officers within the Division are certified as computer literate. This effort underscores the GPF’s commitment to modernizing its workforce for improved efficiency and service in the community.
