Three New Political Parties Join APNU Coalition

Three lesser-known political parties have officially joined the People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR)-led A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) coalition. The new members are Legalize Cannabis, A Movement for Improvement, and the Kingdom Liberation Movement, although little is known about their leaders.

In a Facebook post, APNU stated, “This important step reaffirms our unwavering commitment to building a coalition that truly reflects and represents the diverse voices and aspirations of our nation. Together, we strengthen our shared vision for unity, progress, and inclusive governance.”

APNU, primarily led by the PNCR, also includes other smaller parties such as the Working People’s Alliance (WPA), the Guyana Action Party (GAP), and the National Front Alliance (NFA).

Recently, APNU has been working to revive its partnership with the Alliance For Change (AFC) in preparation for the upcoming 2025 elections. The previous coalition, known as APNU+AFC, successfully took office in 2015.
