Cameron Defreitas, a resident of Timehri, East Bank Demerara, has been charged with dangerous driving following a collision incident that occurred on January 31, 2026. The accident, which involved two motor lorries, took place around 3:45 AM on the Land of Canaan Public Road.

Defreitas appeared at the Friendship Magistrate’s Court on February 4, 2026, before Her Worship Tameika Clarke. During the court session, he pleaded guilty to the charge of dangerous driving, which is in violation of Section 36(1) of the Motor Vehicle and Road Traffic Act, Chapter 51:02.
As a result of his plea, Defreitas was fined fifty thousand dollars (GYD $50,000) and had his driver’s license suspended for twelve months. The ruling serves as a reminder of the legal repercussions associated with dangerous driving and the importance of road safety.
