Tragic Accident Claims Life of Distillery Plant Manager on East Bank Demerara

Jason Bhojedat, a 33-year-old Chemist and Distillery Plant Manager at Demerara Distillers Limited, tragically lost his life in a late-night accident on Sunday, January 25, 2026.

Bhojedat was driving a small bus along the Farm Public Road when a speeding car collided with the back of the bus, causing the vehicle to flip over multiple times before coming to a halt after crashing into a utility pole. Eyewitness accounts indicate that the entire incident was recorded by security cameras from nearby businesses and homes.

Emergency responders managed to pull Bhojedat from the wreckage, and he was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the car responsible for the accident survived, although details about his condition remain unclear.

The Police are currently conducting an investigation into the incident.
