A tragic car accident on Sunday night along the Number 36 Public Road resulted in the death of 22-year-old Lakhram Etwaroo, a construction worker from Number 35 Village.

According to local resident Derick Doodnauth, he heard a loud impact around 11:00 PM and rushed outside to find that a car had collided with his parked vehicle on a bridge. The force of the crash caused the vehicle to overturn. While Doodnauth initially reported that Etwaroo was a passenger in the car, family members have challenged this assertion.
Witnesses indicate that the vehicle was allegedly racing another car when the driver lost control, leading to the collision. Etwaroo’s cousin, Sarika Sansarran, stated that he had just left a birthday party in Phillipi Village and was en route to drop off a friend in Bengal Village when the accident occurred. She claimed that Etwaroo was the driver of the car, which reportedly belonged to the friend in question.
Emergency services rushed Etwaroo to the Port Mourant Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic accident, seeking to clarify the events that led to this heartbreaking incident.
