A 21-year-old overseas-based Guyanese, Jadheo Bhimsingh, was killed on Monday afternoon after a collision between the unregistered motorcycle he was riding and a motorcar along the Number 64 Public Road in Corentyne, Berbice.

The accident occurred around 13:00h, when Bhimsingh was riding south at a high rate of speed without a valid license or safety helmet. The motorcycle collided with motor car PKK 5792, driven by a 60-year-old resident of Number 64 Village, who was traveling in the opposite lane.
The impact caused Bhimsingh to fall onto the eastern grass parapet, resulting in severe injuries. Bystanders quickly assisted and transported him to the Number 75 Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Authorities conducted a breathalyzer test on the driver of the motorcar, which yielded readings of seven and eight micrograms. The driver has been taken into custody and is currently assisting with the ongoing investigation.
