Daily Express Reports : A tragic incident occurred at Piarco International Airport on Tuesday morning when an arriving passenger suffered a medical emergency and later died despite the efforts of first responders.

According to a statement from the Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago, the incident took place around 6 a.m. in the Immigration Hall of the arrivals section. The passenger, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, became unresponsive shortly after disembarking from an international flight.
The Authority’s Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) team, stationed on-site for such emergencies, responded immediately. After initial resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful, the passenger was transported by paramedics to the Arima Health Facility.
Regrettably, the passenger was pronounced dead upon arrival at the facility. The Airports Authority confirmed the passing and extended condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
“The Authority regrets to report that it has since been informed of the passenger’s passing,” the statement read. “We wish to extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones during this difficult time.”
Details regarding the cause of the medical emergency, as well as the passenger’s nationality, age, and originating flight, remain unclear.
While airport operations continued without significant disruption during the emergency response, witnesses reported that staff and passengers in the vicinity were visibly shaken by the incident.
