Trinidad : Prominent Attorney Charged with Sexual Assault

CNC3 Reports : Senior attorney Martin George has been charged with two counts of sexual assault. The charges stem from an investigation that began in March and culminated in George’s arrest on July 8, 2025, at his office on Dundonald Street.

The arrest was executed between 2:40 PM and 5 PM by Insp Denesh Durga, following months of investigations led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Suzette Martin, along with Snr Supt Raymond Thom and ASP Ramesh Soodeen.

Based on legal advice from Director of Public Prosecutions Roger Gaspard on July 2, officers charged George with grievous sexual assault and indecent assault.

In a statement, the T&T Police Service (TTPS) emphasized that several consultations were conducted with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions throughout the investigative process.

George, who is also the president of the Tobago Business Chamber, is scheduled to appear before a Master of the High Court today. Further developments in the case are anticipated as the legal proceedings unfold.
