Three individuals were granted bail of $1.5 million each at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court on August 15, 2025, following charges of simple larceny. The accused are 47-year-old Colin McClennon, 34-year-old Rayon Vanlonge, and 21-year-old Rocklon Lashley, who are alleged to have stolen significant equipment valued at over G$200 million.

The charges state that on December 17, 2024, the trio stole a reel base worth approximately US$821,355 and three pallets of wire ropes valued at US$135,000, all belonging to Saipem Guyana Inc. Additionally, on December 18, they are accused of stealing six metal stands valued at G$60,000,000.
The prosecution objected to bail, citing the serious nature of the offenses and concerns that two of the accused had admitted to the crime. They also noted difficulties in locating McClennon. However, the defense argued for bail, claiming that McClennon was cooperative with police and that the offenses were committed in 2024.
Magistrate Fabayo Azore granted bail of $750,000 for each of the two charges, and the case is set to continue on September 10, 2025.
