A 26-year-old truck driver, Umadatt Dindial, has been disqualified from driving a motor lorry pending the outcome of a dangerous driving charge. The ruling was made by Senior Magistrate Clive Nurse at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court.

Dindial, who resides in Non Pariel and Haslington, East Coast Demerara, was granted bail of $100,000 when he appeared in court. The charge against him stems from an incident that occurred on January 20.
The court’s decision to disqualify Dindial from driving a motor lorry was made after the prosecution successfully applied for the suspension, citing the defendant’s previous conviction for careless driving.
Police have advised both ranks and members of the public to take note of the court’s ruling as the case progresses.
