Two Armed Robbery Suspects Charged and Remanded to Prison
Shawn Prince, a 22-year-old auto body worker from Lusignan, East Coast Demerara, and Nick Sumair, a 26-year-old construction worker from Good Hope (Phase 2), East Coast Demerara, were arrested on June 1, 2025, and charged today (June 4) by ranks from the Vigilance Police Station with the offense of robbery under arms.

The charge was laid contrary to Section 222(c) of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01, in connection with a robbery committed against Kumar Isree, a 29-year-old taxi driver from Bushlot Village, West Coast Berbice.
At approximately 1:00 PM today, the two accused appeared at the Vigilance Magistrates’ Court #1 before His Worship, Senior Magistrate Sunil Scarce, where the charge was read to them. Both pleaded not guilty and were remanded to prison. The matter has been adjourned to August 4, 2025, for report.
