Two Arrested After Cannabis Discovery in Mahaicony

Police in Regional Division Five arrested two individuals after discovering a large quantity of cannabis in a parked car along Harmony Hall Public Road on Tuesday night.

Around 9:18 PM, officers noticed a vehicle stopped on the roadway. They contacted the occupants, a 26-year-old gold miner and a 30-year-old nursing assistant.

Searches of both the individuals and the vehicle revealed three garbage bags in the trunk containing seven compressed parcels of what is suspected to be cannabis.

The total weight of the seized substance was 30.625 kilograms. Both suspects were taken to Mahaicony Police Station and remain in custody as investigations continue.
