Two individuals, including a teenager, are in police custody following an armed robbery on Monday night that targeted a 20-year-old auto body technician.
The robbery took place at approximately 8:00 p.m. while the victim was walking east along the Covent Garden New Scheme. According to reports from Police Headquarters, the victim was approached from behind by two men traveling on a motorcycle.
One of the suspects dismounted, brandished a handgun at the victim, and forcibly relieved him of his cellular phone. The duo then fled the scene on the motorcycle.
Following a report to the authorities, police launched an investigation that led to the successful recovery of the stolen cellular phone. Two suspects have since been arrested in connection with the crime.
Both individuals are currently being held at the Providence Police Station as investigations continue.
