V PAC Calls for Unity Over Ego in Time of Crisis

With less than 90 days until the election, Guyana faces a deepening leadership crisis. The nation cannot afford another election characterized by egos, race-baiting, and political inheritance.

It is time for a movement built on shared purpose and true leadership—not merely the pursuit of power. We must end the stagnant culture of power games and prioritize service over self-interest.

The PPP/C regime is mired in allegations of corruption and abuse of power. Serious accusations, ranging from foreign bribery to political interference, remain unanswered while the elite profit and the people suffer.

V-PAC also holds the opposition accountable. In a time when unity is crucial, the PNC and AFC are embroiled in disputes over presidential nominations and coalition percentages. Their focus is not on the people but on power, demonstrating a lack of genuine leadership.

Amid soaring food prices, rampant corruption, rising migration, and a collapse of public trust, justice remains elusive for victims like Adrianna Younge. Yet, what do we witness from our supposed leaders? A government intoxicated by control and an opposition fixated on positions.

When a country is in turmoil, true leaders do not jostle for the throne; they step up and fight for the people alongside them. Leadership is a shared responsibility. Guyana needs more than a single president; it requires a government that serves all citizens, not just specific bases or races.

Whether it’s Aubrey Norton, Amanza Walton-Desir, Nigel Hughes, Azruddin Mohamed, Nigel London, Simona Brooms, Dorwain Bess, or Glen Lall, no one can govern alone, nor should they attempt to.

This moment calls for rising above ego and uniting for the sake of Guyana. The future of our nation will require coalitions that transcend party lines—even with members of the PPP, provided they are willing to put the country first.

We must not fight against one another but come together to fight for each other. Guyana needs a new kind of leadership; otherwise, we will remain plagued by political parties that are fundamentally similar—merely swapping jerseys.

V-PAC urges all Guyanese, regardless of race, class, or party affiliation, to demand better.

We call on small parties and independent voices to unite, not behind a single individual, but behind a common mission: to build a Guyana that works for everyone. The time is now. The future is in your hands.
