A 28-year-old vendor from River View, Ruimveldt, is in police custody following an intelligence-led operation that resulted in the seizure of suspected narcotics on Tuesday morning.
Acting on gathered intelligence, police officers conducted a targeted operation in the Ruimveldt area at approximately 10:40 a.m. During the search, officers discovered a black plastic bag in the suspect’s possession containing four pounds of suspected narcotics.
The suspect was immediately taken into custody and transported to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Headquarters. The substances were weighed in the presence of the suspect before being officially lodged as evidence.
Police confirm that investigations into the matter are ongoing.
