  • News

On Wednesday afternoon at approximately 5:00 PM, police on motorcycle patrol in Helena #2 encountered an 18-year-old Venezuelan national, a construction worker, standing on a bridge with a black one-strap bag around his neck.

Upon approaching him, officers conducted a search of his person and the bag. They discovered a transparent zip-lock bag containing seven parcels wrapped in black plastic and one wrapped in white plastic.

When opened, the parcels revealed a hard, rock-like substance suspected to be cocaine. The individual was cautioned, arrested, and taken to the Mahaica Police Station, where the suspected cocaine was weighed, totaling 11 grams.

The Venezuelan national has been placed in custody as investigations into the matter continue.
