Walton-Desir Voices Frustration Over Coalition Negotiations

Hon. Amanza Walton-Desir, M.P. and Shadow Minister of Foreign Affairs, has expressed her deep frustration regarding the ongoing negotiations among coalition partners. In a passionate statement shared with supporters, she called for unity and decisive action to benefit the people of Guyana.

“Enough is enough,” Walton-Desir declared, emphasizing her dissatisfaction with the lack of progress in negotiations since January 2025. Despite her efforts to encourage collaboration, she stated that six months later, the parties appear more divided than ever.

“We are failing the people who look to us for leadership,” she lamented, noting that the public is being subjected to a “diet of division and public bickering” that undermines their hope and trust. Walton-Desir criticized the coalition for enabling a “corrupt and incompetent government” that continues to operate without accountability.

She urged her fellow leaders to prioritize the needs of the citizens, stating, “Leadership means actually putting people first.” As the situation continues to evolve, Walton-Desir’s call for unity resonates strongly with supporters who are eager for decisive action and a cohesive approach to governance.
