We Invest In Nationhood (WIN) has issued a statement condemning the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) for its active campaigning less than 24 hours before the polls open on September 1, 2025.

The statement highlights a longstanding unwritten rule in Guyana’s electoral process that prohibits campaigning in the final hours leading up to an election, intended to ensure fairness and respect for voters.
WIN asserts that the PPP’s actions represent a desperate bid to cling to power and a troubling departure from the ethical standards that have historically governed elections in the country.
The party is calling on the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) and international observers to acknowledge this breach of democratic practice. They urge all political parties to uphold the integrity of the electoral period, allowing voters to approach the polls without undue influence, intimidation, or manipulation.
