We Invest In Nationhood Party Holds Rally in Linden Ahead of Elections

News Source Guyana Reports : The We Invest In Nationhood (WIN) party made a significant push in the mining town of Linden on Wednesday night with its final rally before Monday’s elections. Linden, a traditional stronghold for the People’s National Congress and the PNC-led APNU, has become a focal point in the battle for votes.

At the rally held at the Mackenzie mini-bus park, WIN Leader and Presidential Candidate Azruddin Mohamed downplayed concerns regarding his political experience as he seeks public office for the first time. He criticized established leaders for neglecting Linden and Region 10, stating, “These so-called leaders boast about their political experience, yet after 59 years of independence, we still face numerous problems. We need leaders who will represent the people and lift them up.”

Mohamed, a billionaire businessman turned politician, underscored the pressing need for jobs and opportunities in Linden. He outlined his vision for a government that would invest in manufacturing, empower citizens, and re-establish an alumina plant in the town to support the bauxite industry. “We will set up a factory here to ensure that our people get jobs, and we will train them to even become shareholders in this company,” he promised.

In addition, he proposed the creation of a glass factory in Linden to generate employment and boost the local economy. Mohamed accused the People’s Progressive Party Civic (PPP/C) government of discriminating against Linden due to the town’s lack of support for the party, stating, “Linden deserves better.”

Mohamed also announced plans for a University of Guyana campus in Linden, emphasizing the need for educational opportunities in the region. Addressing security issues, he condemned the violence and bloodshed in Linden, particularly at the hands of police. He pledged to restore law and order by allowing police to perform their duties without government interference.

The WIN party leader also promised to increase cash grants for citizens and initiate major infrastructural projects to drive development. Various WIN candidates joined Mohamed at the rally, highlighting plans for women and youth development, as well as reforming the Guyana Elections Commission.

Despite being formed just a few months ago, the WIN party is confidently campaigning across the country, aiming to live up to its name and secure victory in the upcoming elections.
