Dinish Deonarine, also known as Anil, a 33-year-old welder, was arrested on July 23, 2025, and charged today, July 28, 2025, with unlawful possession of stolen items, in violation of Section 94(1)(c) of the Summary Jurisdiction (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:02.
Deonarine appeared at the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court this morning before Senior Magistrate Sunil Scarce, where the charge was read to him. He pleaded not guilty and was granted bail set at $30,000. The case has been postponed to September 18, 2025.
The arrest followed a police operation at Deonarine’s home, where a search was conducted for stolen articles and illegal items. The operation was led by Inspector Sardinha, Sergeant Tyndall, and Woman Detective Corporal Clarke, along with other police ranks.
During the search, the following items were recovered from his residence:
Six (6) vehicle batteries
Three (3) water pumps
Two (2) pressure washers
Three (3) solar lights
Two (2) Allion motor vehicle grills
Investigations are ongoing as authorities continue to assess the situation.
