  • News

Wendy’s, one of the world’s most recognized quick-service restaurant brands, is set to open its first location in Guyana this August. The announcement comes following a franchise agreement signed with WenKai Inc., which will bring Wendy’s signature offerings, including square hamburgers, Spicy Chicken Sandwiches, chicken nuggets, and Frosty treats, to local customers.

The inaugural restaurant will be located on Vlissingen Road in Georgetown, featuring a modern dining experience with drive-thru service, dine-in seating, and delivery options.

WenKai Inc. has ambitious plans to open a total of three Wendy’s restaurants in Guyana by the end of this year. As part of a broader market expansion, there are also plans for new Wendy’s locations in Suriname.

Iman Khan-Cummings, the franchisee and founder of WenKai Inc., expressed excitement about the venture, stating, “We’ve long admired Wendy’s for its commitment to quality, innovation, and hospitality. Bringing this beloved brand to Guyana—our home—is incredibly exciting. We look forward to serving fresh, made-to-order meals and building strong community relationships through this new venture.”

The opening of Wendy’s in Guyana marks a significant milestone in the company’s journey to extend its reach throughout Latin America. As a 100% Guyanese-owned company, WenKai Inc. is dedicated to transforming the local dining landscape by introducing world-class food brands to Guyana and the wider region.
