WIN Allegations of Intimidation Against PPP Candidates

News

Hana Khamelia from the We Invest In Nationhood (WIN) Party has claimed that the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) has been actively contacting candidates from their party following the submission of their list to the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM). According to Khamelia, candidates have reported receiving numerous calls from PPP operatives urging them to publicly withdraw their applications in exchange for substantial sums of money and other inducements.

Khamelia expressed her disgust at these alleged tactics, stating, “This is very disgusting. Thankfully, ALL of our candidates are honourable people and they have rejected the approaches by the PPP.”

These allegations highlight concerns about the integrity of the electoral process as the upcoming elections approach.
