WIN Condemns Racial Abuse and Intimidation Against Campaign Manager

News

In a Social Media Post : WIN (We Invest in Nationhood) has publicly condemned a violent and disrespectful incident involving their Region 3 campaign manager, who was verbally threatened and racially abused by Jermaine Gentle, a known agent of the People’s Progressive Party (PPP).

The incident occurred last night when Gentle blocked the campaign bus transporting the young woman home. He refused to move his vehicle and approached her in a threatening manner. Additionally, his wife verbally attacked the campaign manager, using disturbing racial slurs, including calling her a “black dog.”

This incident is not an isolated one; prior to this event, two reports had already been filed against Gentle at the Wales Police Station for similar behavior.

WIN emphasizes that such intimidation tactics are unacceptable. “No woman, no campaign worker, and no Guyanese should face this kind of intimidation for standing up for change,” the party stated.

The group criticized the PPP, labeling them as “cowards” who resort to bullying and threatening women. They called on the Ethnic Relations Commission (ERC) and civil society groups to condemn this behavior and take action to protect women and campaign workers from intimidation.

WIN remains committed to promoting a safe and respectful environment for all individuals participating in the democratic process.
