The We Invest in Nationhood (WIN) Party has strongly condemned the actions of the Guyana Police Force following the reported seizure of buses transporting its supporters to a scheduled rally in Mabaruma on Saturday morning.

According to a statement issued by the party, three buses carrying WIN supporters were intercepted by police and taken into custody at the Mabaruma Police Station. The party described the move as a direct attempt to prevent citizens from exercising their democratic right to assemble.
“This is a blatant effort to block citizens from exercising their democratic right to assemble,” the press release stated. “These attacks on our supporters are attacks on democracy itself.”
The WIN Party emphasized that despite what it views as intimidation tactics, it will not be silenced, and its supporters will remain steadfast. The statement further urged all Guyanese to stand in solidarity for freedom, peace, and democracy.
“We call on all Guyanese to stand for freedom, peace, and democracy. Together we will win,” the party said.
