The Government of Guyana has announced that the $100,000 cash grant for eligible beneficiaries under Budget 2026 will be disbursed through banks, starting next week. This initiative aims to streamline the payment process, reduce long lines, and enhance convenience for recipients.
Finance Minister Dr. Ashni Singh shared with NCN News that public servants will be the first group to receive these payments as part of the new system.
To facilitate this process, the government plans to launch an online portal that will enable Guyanese to register for a bank account, ensuring that individuals without existing accounts can still access their grants. This change is designed to eliminate barriers, expedite payments, and improve the overall distribution experience nationwide.
