The Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) has received submissions from twenty-four (24) political parties seeking to contest in the upcoming General and Regional Elections. These submissions included party symbols in response to a Notice issued by GECOM, which invited potential contestants to submit their symbols by June 23, 2025.

The Commission is set to review and approve the submitted symbols on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. Following this review, the respective parties will be promptly informed of the outcomes regarding their submissions.
In preparation for the elections, political parties are required to submit their Lists of Candidates on Nomination Day, scheduled for July 14, 2025. Along with these lists, parties must present a copy of their pre-approved symbol to the Chief Election Officer.
GECOM remains dedicated to engaging all stakeholders to ensure they are fully prepared for this critical phase of the electoral process.
