In a statement shared on their official Facebook page, the ministry confirmed that a team of officers from the Ministries of Human Services, Amerindian Affairs, and Home Affairs visited the family’s residence to assess their situation.
The investigation revealed that the woman and her children are not originally from Guyana and have been residing in the area for an extended period. During the visit, the multi-ministerial team made several interventions and provided necessary support to the family.
Further assistance is on the way, as a team from the Ministry of Health is scheduled to visit the household to evaluate the children’s health and provide any essential care. The team also included translators to facilitate communication and ensure the family received all pertinent information.
