Talesh Persaud, a 30-year-old labourer from Columbia, has been charged with several traffic offences, including obscured identification mark, failure to have an identification mark, uninsured motor vehicle, and unlicensed motor vehicle. These charges stem from an incident that occurred on December 11, 2025, at the Anna Regina Access Road.

On February 3, 2026, Persaud appeared in the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court before His Worship Ravindra Mohabir. During the proceedings, he changed his plea from not guilty to guilty.

As a result of his guilty pleas, Persaud received the following penalties:

Obscured Identification Mark (Front): fined $100,000 or three months’ imprisonment

Failure to Have Identification Mark (Rear): fined $100,000 or three months’ imprisonment

Uninsured Motor Vehicle: fined $40,000 or three months’ imprisonment

Unlicensed Motor Vehicle: fined $10,000 or one month’s imprisonment
